safety at sea
As people who move on the waters around Hanko, we still want to share a few tips on the rules of the sea and other useful things to keep in mind out there — regardless of boat or experience level.
Remember to be careful. Keep a safe distance from other boats, jetties and shallows. Try to signal in good time, wear a lifejacket, and let someone know where you are going and when you expect to be back.
Important dates 2026
The association holds its ordinary meetings twice a year. Notice is sent to members no later than eight days before the meeting.

Inspection days 2026
Inspections take place at 17.00 according to the schedule below. For questions, contact the inspection officer. Fire extinguisher checks are planned for Mondays 4.5 and 11.5.
& insurance
In Finland, motorboats with at least 15 kW and sailing boats over 5.5 metres must be registered.
Registration is done through Traficom. Make sure the registration certificate and insurance documents are kept on board.
Important: Changes of ownership and other amendments must be reported without delay.
